Our tools help you find the right equipment and the best prices from trusted suppliers, all in one place. We aim to provide an impartial platform that is always free to use for the astro community.

To make the most of these tools, all you need to do is create a free account. This lets you save your rigs, bookmarks, comparisons, and shortlist across sessions and devices. Most features require you to be logged in so we can keep everything in sync for you.

Equipment Cards

Equipment Cards are dedicated pages for telescopes, mounts, cameras, smart telescopes, power tanks, and more. Each card pulls together product listings from multiple suppliers, images, manufacturer specs, community ratings (no “editor picks” here!), and videos where available — everything you need in one place.

You can browse and filter Equipment Cards by type and other key specs, then bookmark your favourites, add them to your Rig Builder, or track listings using your Shortlist.

Astro Workshop

The Astro Workshop is your personal planning hub. It brings together all your tools and saved items in one space:

• Rig Builder — build and test complete setups.
• Compare — see key specs side-by-side for similar gear.
• Bookmarks — keep track of Equipment Cards you’re interested in.
• Shortlist — save individual product listings and prices.

Because everything is tied to your account, you can log in from any device and pick up right where you left off.

Bookmarks

Bookmark any Equipment Card to track gear you’re interested in. Your Bookmarks tab makes it easy to revisit, sort, and refine your list as your plans develop — ideal for long-term wishlists and future upgrades.

Compare

Compare Equipment Cards of the same type (for example, telescopes with telescopes) to see key specs side-by-side. This makes it easy to spot differences in aperture, focal length, weight, and other important details so you can quickly narrow down your options and make informed decisions.

Rig Builder

A “rig” is your full astronomy or astrophotography setup — telescope, camera, mount, power, and more. Use the Rig Builder to assemble your rig using real gear from Equipment Cards.

You’ll instantly see total weight, estimated power usage and runtime, pixel scale (how sharp and zoomed-in your images will look), and a simulated sky view of deep sky objects using the Aladin Lite viewer, or solar system objects like the Moon and planets — all tailored to your selected equipment.

Shortlist

When you find the right product listings on Equipment Cards, add them to your personal Shortlist. Your Shortlist lets you track prices from multiple suppliers, see different conditions (new, used, etc.), and view prices in your preferred currency — so you’re ready when the right deal appears.

Dynamic Search

In addition to the listings inside Equipment Cards, you can use the dynamic search tool to browse live product listings from Let’s Go Astro partners — including used gear and hard-to-find accessories. It’s perfect for finding items that may not yet have their own Equipment Card, such as one-off eBay deals, brackets, adaptors, and other extras.

Any suitable listing you find through dynamic search can be added to your Shortlist, so you can compare and track it alongside other options.

We aim to provide you with product listings from as many reputable suppliers as we can. Many of these suppliers are not partners of Let’s Go Astro, but we list their products anyway to give you the best chance of finding the right deal at the best available price.
